Landscape and Garden Presentations

Most programs last about an hour, and include PowerPoint presentations featuring original photography, handouts, and /or demonstrations. Custom presentations are available.

Depending on the size and location of the group, fees start at $125.00 plus mileage and expenses.

Landscape and Garden Plants

New and Interesting Annuals: Shows the best, most interesting and newest annual plants for our area.

Perennials Throughout the Seasons: Selection and growing advice for blooms from spring through fall, with an emphasis on low-maintenance, long-blooming perennials and the newest cultivars on the market.

Grow Up! With Vines and Vertical Accents: Bring the interest and beauty of plants up to eye level with annual and perennial vines.

Minor Bulbs; Major Show: Some of the best things come in small packages. Learn about the tiny, but prolific spring flowering plants called “minor bulbs”.

Container Gardening: Learn how to create and maintain lush containers.

Plants for a Children’s Garden: Adults and children will be fascinated with these interesting plants and landscape features. This is a national award-winning presentation.

Plant Propagation: These are workshops combining lecture and demonstration, with a hands-on component. Seasonally appropriate techniques are discussed. (90-minutes)

Vegetable Gardening and Edibles

Vegetable Gardening in Small Spaces: You don’t need to have a large, dedicated garden to grow a lot of vegetables. Get the most out of the space you have!

Edibles in the Home Landscape: How to incorporate edible plants into your landscape using a wide array of trees, shrubs, vegetables, flowers and herbs with edible parts.

Incredible Edible Flowers: Find out about, and taste, a wide variety of flowers useful for food or garnish in this workshop offered May through September.

All About Herbs: Emphasizing your choice of herbs for cooking, cosmetic and fragrance garden, or tea garden herbs; growing herbs in containers; preserving herbs and flowers; etc.

Nature Presentations

The Bird Friendly Landscape: Reveals the secrets to attracting feathered friends to your yard using appropriate landscaping.

The Butterfly/Hummingbird Garden: Attract these “flying jewels” to your patio, garden or landscape – and keep them there.

Family and Genera Profiles

Botanical classification, history, folklore and uses of the plants from these groups make a unique, educational and fun presentation. Below are some of the programs already available; request your favorite family or genus for a custom-made presentation.
